What is Gift With Purchase?
Many of our customers ask how they can use promotional gifts to help increase their revenue. At Parkers, we consult with each customer dependent on their exact needs. One recent project we have been working on is offering a Gift with Purchase (GWP) at checkout stage. GWP helps to boost spend by offering a high value gift at the point of purchase.
How does Gift with Purchase work?
It’s a simple process really.
At checkout stage, if the system notices there is an order value that could be rounded up (eg £85 up to £100), a pop up box appears saying:
‘if you round your order up to £100, we’ll give you a free gift worth £30.’
Here’s an example
Company X wanted a way of increasing spend and promoting their brand simultaneously. They used GWP and offered a choice of gifts that were made of leather, high end and practical. Gifts to choose from were a washbag, credit card holder, wallet & keyring set or an umbrella. These were branded with Company X’s logo to act as a constant visual reminder of the brand.
How did the offer perform?
We’d say that was a result!
But what about the customers that opted out?
Good point. There were 6,946 customers out of 7,462 that did not take up GWP. That’s around 75%. This is a significant area of development. Company X admitted there were improvements that could be made to make promote and make the offer stronger and increase uptake.
